Meet Daphne Selfe. Britain’s oldest model who, despite being in her 80’s is still revelling in the delights of a modelling career.
Brandammo worked alongside Jamie Morgan following a photographic shoot for Japanese Vogue, which emphasises her timelessness.
Selfe, who is a grandmother of four, had started her career on the catwalk 60 years ago, and she is still going strong, earning 1,000 pounds a day in campaigns for high-profile designer brands such as Dolce and Gabbana.
So, what’s her secret? Simplicity is key; she was quoted in The Telegraph saying “I drink lots of water and eats masses of salad, fruit and fish. I enjoy chocolate, cakes and buns, but not every day. I try to sleep seven hours a night and use very little make-up, apart from tinted moisturiser. I exercise regularly, too, usually ten minutes a day on my exercise bike, plus Pilates or yoga to keep me supple. I’ve never considered plastic surgery, but often young models ask me what to do about a tiny wrinkle they think they have. I tell them it is part of growing up and to leave it alone.”
