10 Essential Magento Extensions for retail success

Magento’s community edition of their increasingly popular e-commerce platform provides an outstanding array of tools to online retailers looking to compete with the larger players in the game.

But with the addition of Magento connect, allowing the community to create and share paid and free extensions via it’s online marketplace, any website built on the framework can extend their offerings and user experience to new levels that for years only ‘big budget’ websites could afford. Internet will stop expanding?

Online and global business growth could start grinding to a halt by spring unless internet service providers replace their creaking addressing system, Vint Cerf has said. ‘If nobody does anything then the internet will simply stop expanding,’ said the computer scientist who helped lay the foundations of the network in the 1970s and is now Google vice-president.

Picking up the Metro newspaper this morning on my way to work, I came across an article… relating to the addressing systems of our Internet, particularly in Europe which uses the older IPv4 addressing system…. apparently only five per cent is left unused and by spring the Internet will come to a halt in its growth, other parts of the world have already widely adopted IPv6 which can hold trillions of addresses rather than the billions that IPv4 holds; although slower it isn’t compatible with IPv4…wonder what would happen if we buy all the domains in Europe? :/ What do you think?

What was most impressive was the sharp detail of the display and how it really was hard at times to distinguish the builing from the 3D rendered graphics. Continue reading

Magento ProNav Extension from Brandammo Commerce

Magento ProNav Extension Launched

Today is very exciting day for all the team at Brandammo. We have opened up a new division dedicated solely to the e-commerce sector. Brandammo Commerce is primarily centred around the powerful e-commerce framework Magento, creating bespoke extensions, community themes and offering installation and development of Magento.

With the launch of Brandammo Commerce our first offering to the public is our extremely poweful ProNav extension. ProNav acts on the static blocks within Magento’s admin area and displays each assigned block as a drop down menu. We have seen many navigation extensions being offered on Magento’s marketplace, but we knew we were on to something when we conceived this extremely simple concept of attaching a chosen static block to an individual navigation item as a drop down area.
