Google announced Monday morning that it will acquire Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion.

September 8th- iPhone 5?
A report from one Japanese website marks September 8 as the date of Apple’s next media event, at which some expect the company to launch the iPhone 5.
The company has historically released its new phones at its summer Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This year, in the wake of the Verizon iPhone 4 release, that tradition failed to pan out.
Apple’s annual September media event seems like a logical alternative, although it has in the past been reserved for iPod launches. Continue reading

Stop Expression Engine from transforming web addresses and emails into links
It took a bit of time looking and exploring within the Expression Engine administrator panel to stop web addresses being transformed into links…. Google results showed the older administrator panel, but within the later versions, you can find it here:

jQuery Toggle Drop Down Menu – jQuery.anyDropDown
jQuery Toggle Menu similar to jquery.naviDropDown using easing, but you can toggle the menu to reveal hidden content, you can place any HTML content in to the drop down element, in the example below; the element is .dropdown_menu, you can pass the name of this hidden element into the plugin as well as the name of the element which the toggle method is acted on (in the example this element is .dropdown).
The plugin needs to be initiated on a containing element which holds the dropdown and its hidden element. Use the example in the demo link to see the structure. Please see jQuery Easing Plugin to see all easing methods. Continue reading
Simple jQuery Dropdown Menu with easing and hoverIntent, naviDropDown 1.0
Here is a simple jQuery plugin I wrote recently which allows you to create a simple drop down menu, utilising hoverIntent, and jQuery’s own slideUp and slideDown effects. You can also set the orientation of the drop down depending if your navigation is horizontal (default) or vertical, and set the duration and easing method of both slideUp and slideDown on initiation of the plugin.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Fan Page Hacked
Sources reveal that Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Fan page was hacked earlier today, the page has now been taken down but you can see a screenshot of the page just before it was taken down over at Tech Crunch or for the lazy ones, the status message read:
Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way?
